Nokia and Motorola have unveiled phones which can switch between cellular coverage outdoors and cheap wireless internet calling inside using a single phone number. They have been introduced in order to meet the growing demand.
The companies are aware of the fact that they can’t beat internet call operators like Skype for the cheap calls they provide and they think it is better to join them. Nokia 6136 and Motorola A190 handsets introduced at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth in order to make cut price calls from home, office or public hotspot. A number of smaller manufacturers have also announced similar phones in recent months.
